Itinerary
From Saigon, we will transfer you to Tu Mo Rong, a new settlement town for 2 nights stay. We may pass over Mang Ri forest in the afternoon if we have enough time.
You will have a full day exploring Ngoc Linh Mountain Range, where you could look for your big target, the hardly seen species Golden-winged Laughingthrush. Compared to Black-crowned Barwing, which is much easier to find. Besides these two targets, we could catch a sight of stunning Red-tailed Laughingthrush, near endemic Indochinese Fulvetta and some other more widespread such as Coral-billed Scimitar Babbler, Indochinese Barbet.
We would return to Ngoc Linh if necessary, otherwise transfer to Mang Den and spend 2 nights here.
Head up for the unspoilt Mang Canh Forest and seek out for our main target the Chestnut-eared Laughingthrush, but we will also be on the lookout for Black-hooded Laughingthrush, Pale-capped Pigeon, the endemic Ratchet-tailed Treepie and we have another chance for Yellow-billed Nuthatch, as well as our first chance to see the Brown Hornbill.
Final early morning birding at Mang Den then drive to Da Lat romantic city.
Three full days exploring Dalat we will set foot to number of excellent birding sites including Ta Nung Valley, Giang Ly, Cong Troi, Tuyen Lam lake and Langbiang Mountain.
You may catch sight of some species that you have missed in Kon Tum Plateau.
Our goals in Dalat are Red Crossbill, Black-headed and Rufous-backed Sibia, local subspecies of Black-throated Sunbird, Hodgon's Frogmouth, Spot-bellied Eagle Owl.
